You'll also stop by the city's Central Park to see the National Monument, this statue features five female figures that represent the five Central American countries that resisted being re-colonized by a private military led by American William Walker.

You'll see the grandest buildings in San José at the National Theater. Your guide will take you around the elaborate, European-style lobby, which was built using taxes on coffee exports.

You'll also stop for lunch at a local restaurant where you'll feast on a typical Costa Rican offering.
