Wildlife Sanctuary Pitahaya Tour.

This tour consists of a guided walk that addresses the topic of “Wild animals keep forests healthy and thus contribute to human health” and the importance of not extracting animals from their ecosystem. You will enjoy and learn about the most representative animal species of the Neotropics such as jaguars, tapirs, sloths, monkeys, exotic macaws, scarlet macaws, green macaws and other species of animals that are almost impossible to see naturally. In addition, you also will learn about the natural history and the problems that threaten the fauna of Costa Rica with extinction and even how to avoid it's loss.

Before getting into the sanctuary you will receive a short explanation of the rules and their importance. Do not touch the animals, do not talk to the animals, do not feed them, do not leave the trails, and others. This is in order to minimize the stress that animals could suffer in the presence of humans. Additionally, we will provide you with information about wild species to help understand their importance and function in nature.

In our Natuwa Wildlife Sanctuary we have trained personnel who handle information on ecological issues. Our guides are always attentive to providing respectful treatment to our visitors and the information they provides generates the creation of awareness; with the purpose of conserving our natural resources and thus contributing to the protection of Costa Rican biodiversity.
